I have been an art student for 10 years for Ms. Lu. Under her guidance, she helped me improve my art skills, develop my style, and detail creative, original artwork.

I have always looked forward to her well-taught classes every Sunday. Last year, she was of great help in developing my art portfolio theme, and I received the highest score of “5” in AP 2D Art and Design. Furthermore, I have won multiple regional awards in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards and became a published artist in the Celebrating Art contest.

As a teacher, Ms. Lu is incredibly inspiring, pushing me to explore the depths of my creativity. Her expertise in anatomy, color theory, and light theory shows her wide-ranging talents as an instructor. We frequently work with various mediums, from oils to pastel pencils, and this versatility enables me to fully express and develop my passion for art.

I have loved drawing since I was a toddler and have taken various art classes, in school or out of school. I am absolutely so in love with painting and drawing classes by my art teacher Ms. Wei Lu. She is my favorite art teacher. When I started having my classes with her in July 2021, we first did one by one paintings. In no time flat, I had done approximately 17 paintings, which are still so lovely I admire looking at them now. My mom had even used some of these paintings for her book she had published. Since then, I have been learning painting and drawing from Ms. Lu, here is where I had really been improving my art skills. She was very good at discovering my talent in art, and she encouraged and guided me to participate in Scholastic Art & Writing Award competition. Starting from the 9th grade, I participated in the competition for three consecutive years and won awards for three consecutive years, including two gold keys. These awards gave me more confidence. Most importantly, I kept learning new painting and drawing skills in Ms. Lu’s classes, so I could always maintain my interest and love for art. I also really like the classroom atmosphere that Ms. Lu created for us. She is so nice, patient and warm. And she is a big inspiration. I and other art-loving peers can really enjoy the learning and creation process together.
